Jeanne Damas embodies French girl cool. We thought we were over the stereotype but then she came along with her brand Rouje, changing our wardrobes for the better and making us fall in love with the country's insouciance all over again.

From jewel-toned velvet jumpsuits to Mary Jane pumps and the sellout Gabin dress (think flattering wrap dressing in floral print with buttons at the waist), Jeanne has reinvigorated Parisian classics for the Instagram age, and amassed 1 million followers in the process.

"I was born and raised in Paris – to me, it will always be home," she explains of bringing her French aesthetic to a global audience. "I love this cosmopolitan city on a human scale." Who better, then, to give us the lowdown on the best places to eat, drink and dance in the city of love?

Click through to find Jeanne's guide to Paris, from the best coffee spot to where to soak up the sun.

Where should we go for a nightcap?

Probably Chez Jeannette, a typical Parisian bistro.

And to enjoy the sunshine?

On the terrace of Chez Charlette, the cutest café in Paris. It is the perfect place to enjoy the sunshine after lunch! Or at the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont to read a book lying on the grass.

Where should we stay?

I love hanging out in the 9th or 10th arrondissement. The best hotels there are the Hotel Providence, Hotel Grand Amour and Hotel Le Pigalle.

What’s your favourite food spot, and what should we order?

I love Le Petit Marché, where I always order the tuna millefeuille with soy sauce at lunch, and duck breast with bananas and mashed potatoes.

We want to go dancing – where's the best spot?

The Pavillon Puebla in the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont is a very cool place to go dancing.

Is there a tourist cliché worth the hype?

Montmartre, for the most beautiful view of Paris, but also for the small boutiques and streets.

Where can we go swimming?

At the Piscine Molitor of course!

We want some traditional French cuisine – where should we go and what’s the best dish?

Go to Au Moulin à Vent and order the Chateaubriand with bearnaise sauce and potatoes.

Where can we find the best Instagrammable interiors?

At the Puces de Saint-Ouen, where the best vintage furniture shops are.

Where can we buy vintage treasures?

La Mode Vintage, where Carole has a beautiful selection of silky shirts and jackets. But it’s only open on weekends!

The best coffee in Paris?

At the Télescope Café, where you should also taste their pastries.

What should we bring back in our suitcase?

French pharmacy items!
